Prazer

Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, 1999.

Joana Amora is Visual Artist and freelance Creative currently living in Berlin, Germany, for a year before starting her Master's degree in Information and Communication in Mulhouse, France.

Travelling between worlds, Amora proposes that we play with the universe to cultivate better realities. Since 2017, she has been co-creating living works that mix reality and imagination, learning with life itself about the relationships in space-time and how they construct realities

Amora is a Summa Cum Laude Visual Arts graduate of the Fine Arts School of Rio de Janeiro, and studied at Aix-Marseille Université, France, with works in collections such as the Interdisciplinary Centre of Fluid Dynamics of UFRJ, the Technological Park of UFRJ & the Z42 Space. She has exhibited in France and Brazil & her last residence at Echangeur22 produced the "Artist-Gardener Practical Handbook", a book presented as the final work of her graduation, 10 graded and recommended for publication by the jury.

In her track, she was a monitor & assistant to the artist Xico Chaves, a futuristic caveman who taught her that boundaries within contemporary art are imaginary. And before that, she learned from Paula Scamparini & Marina Fraga in the "Art: Ecologies" research group how to cultivate the realities we want, like gardens. In these experiences, she has organised workshops, courses and exhibitions in Rio de Janeiro with institutions such as the Visual Arts School of Parque Lage, the Goethe Institut-Rio, the Museu do Pontal and the Espaço Cultural Municipal Sérgio Porto.

She works with contemporary art, art direction & creative economy focused on projects with sustainable purposes.
