Passion Fruit on the Grid

Maracujá sobre Grade (Passion fruit on grid)
Series Trepantes, 2019-2022

Passion fruit over grid & time

Jardim Botânico, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Maracujá sobre Grade was planted surreptitiously in 2019, without permission, when the building I live in placed the grid on its facade, limiting territory & separating itself from the world. The plant was a living painting in time, with smell, taste & movement, until it was cut down by the gardener. In its life it was all eaten by caterpillars & bore more than 20 passion fruit, picked prematurely by the passers-by.
